Dr. Barbara Wolock

Dr. Barbara Wolock is a native of the Kansas City area and has been proud to practice medicine here since 1991. She is an experienced general ophthalmologist with a surgical focus on the removal of cataracts. Dr. Wolock graduated summa cum laude from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York, and went on to get her medical degree at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville. After one year as an internal medicine resident at the University of Virginia, she completed a residency in ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. She has been with Grin Eye Care since 1998.

In addition to caring for patients at Grin Eye Care, Dr. Wolock has also generously given of her time and enjoyed participating in medical missions. She traveled to Vietnam with the Medical Missions Foundation and was able to perform cataract surgeries for patients that would not otherwise have had access to such needed procedures. In June of 2013, she traveled to Ghana, accompanied by two of her children, to assist an ophthalmologist with cataract surgeries and training. Over spring break 2016, Anna and Charlie were able to join their mother once again, this time on a medical mission to Honduras.

Dr. Wolock is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Societies and was recognized as one of America's Top Ophthalmologists in 2012. She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Wills Eye Hospital Society, the Kansas City Society of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. When Dr. Wolock is not busy at work, she spends time with her husband, David, and their four wonderful children.
